Day 16: Dream Home

I'm a true believer that wherever your family is, there your home is too. Having grown up living many different places I never had a constant "home" but always felt at home because I was with my family. (If that makes sense). Even when we moved to Texas for good, my parents didn't stay in the house that I called home for long. (Mom and Dad, don't feel bad, I'm over it :) ) I am very content in the home that I live in with my little family and its just the right size for us at this point in our lives. But, if I had to describe my dream home, it might be different than you would expect. I have always loved old Victorian Dream homes. My grandparents used to live in a small town that had streets of old victorian homes and I used to love driving down it looking out the window in awe of these huge old homes. I would love to own a 2-3 story Victorian home with a wrap around porch. I would enjoy fixing it up and making it beautiful and would love for it to be on a ton of land with a gated entrance. I know that this will probably always be just a dream but I still enjoy looking at Victorians and picturing myself in them and what I would do to change or fix up. Here are a few pictures of some beautiful Victorian homes. Maybe one day...

Isn't this just the coolest picture?? I would love to know what this house looks like now!...Its beautiful!!!!!

Day 15: Bible Verse

The bible verse I am sharing with you was the very first bible verse I learned.
Psalms 23:1-4
"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me besides still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in the path of rightousness for his names sake. Even tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. You rod and staff comfort me."

I like The Message version too:
"God my shepherd, I dont need a thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows. You find me quiet pools to drink from. True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction. Even when the way goes through the valley, I am not afraid when you walk by my side. Your trusty shepherds crook makes me feel secure.

Day 14: Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! I've never been one to go all out on Valentines Day, but now that Hannah is apart of our lives, it gives Conrad and I a great excuse for a date night. Thanks to my mom and dad, we were able to spend a wonderful evening...just the 2 of us! We enjoyed a nice dinner with some of the best catfish I've ever had and then we went to see a movie which Conrad graciously agreed to see with me (Just Go With It). I even got roses and the sweetest card. I love him so much! This Valentine's Day I'm blessed with not one but 2 Valentines. I could not ask for more!

Day 13: Goals

f
If you've been reading my blog, you know by now that I am not one of those miracle women that shed all their "baby weight" in a matter of days even weeks. For those of you that fall in to that category..boo on you. Okay not really, but really. I gained 70 lbs when I was pregnant with Hannah and am still working on getting all that gone. My sister is getting married this summer and she informed me I would be wearing a short dress that shows my legs!! Don't get me wrong, I love the dress and I know her wedding is not about me, but when I can't even get my pre-pregnancy jeans past my big old thighs, I'm a little self-conscious when it comes to showing my legs. So, my 1 and only goal for the time being is to fit into this dress with my pre-pregnancy weight by my sisters wedding at the end of July. Like the Little Engine that Could said, "I think I can, I think I can...."

Day 12: My Little Valentine

Today's topic was supposed to be about what I believe. But, since I just wrote my faith story a few weeks ago I think I covered what I believe. So, I'm writing about my little Valentine. Yesterday was Hannah's first Valentine Day party at school. She was complete with Valentine clothes, took valentine's and came home with a bag full of Valentines.
Off to school for her first Valentine party

After school with all her Valentines and bag

On a side note...Hannah had her first Valentine Day party today at school :) I will be posting pics and writing a blog about it later this weekend. Happy Friday!

Day 10: Something I'm scared of....

There are 2 things that I am so scared of....the kind of scared that make you shake, sweat and scream. The first thing is spiders of all shapes and sizes. I can't stand them. There is even a commercial out now with a spider at the beginning and I have to change the channel or look away. If I see one in my house I start screaming and immediatly Conrad will say "spider?" and come to my rescue. If he is not here to kill it I usually throw something over it so it won't go anywhere and then he takes care of it when he gets home.
The other thing that I am so scared of is driving on ice/snow. Being from Texas, you can't really practice driving on that stuff. It just shows up and you have to drive. I had a really bad experience in high school and ever since then I just can't do it. I also had the worst car you can have for driving on that stuff. I drove a Mustang and Mustangs only know how to drive on dry roads. However, even today just thinking about driving on a snowy, icy road makes me panic. Even riding with someone makes me a nervous wreck where my "behind" stays clinched the entire time. Luckily, Conrad had more practice driving on those types of conditions so I feel a little better when it comes time for venturing out in that kind of weather.
