Hats fit for a Royal...

So, was there a doubt that I would watch the Royal Wedding...no. However, I thought I would just watch it on my dvr, but Hannah graciously allowed me to watch it live. Thank you Hannah! Prince William looked stunning, Kate (Princes Catherine) looked flawless, and the kiss should have lasted longer, but I'm grateful there were 2. Now, I must say I have never been much of a hat person, but I am pretty sure the hat worn by Prince Williams cousin is one that should never be worn by anyone...I'm not even sure if it was meant to be a hat.

Now for some of the more tasteful hats....

7 months!

Hannah is now 7 months old....where has the time gone? I remember this time last year, when I had just recently found out I was having a girl. That little girl has changed my life forever. This past month, I have been pretty much a single mom, hence the reason I haven't blogged much. I don't have any free time, and when I do, I am to tired to do anything else but sit and relax. Tis baseball season so Conrad has had baseball games everynight except Sundays and Wednesdays so we enjoy our time all together when we can. I have a new found respect for single moms...its hard work, but I wouldn't change a thing...except to have Conrad around more. Luckily baseball season isn't too much longer. Anyways...back to Hannah being 7 months now. She is rolling all over the place and is at the beginning stages of teething which means drool gallore and a little more cranky and clingy. I will put her in one spot and leave the room for a minute, when I return, she is across the room. :)  She has recently developed eczema on her face and arms. We're not sure why she has just now gotten it, but we are doing everything to heal and soothe her poor little face.I have recently started reading some sleep books to help with her sleeping habits (and mine). This week has been so much better, and she has slept through the night, staying in her bed the whole night 3 nights this week! (that is a HUGE improvement) The key to this, I have learned, is not running in there everytime I hear a peep....she is learning to fall back asleep without my assistance. We are still working on naptime...I am hoping to have that down by the time she is one (haha).  I am lucky to get 30 minutes to myself during the day, which sometimes makes for a very long day. My usual response to the "my child takes 2-3 hour naps a day" is that I just get to spend more time with my baby....positive thinking :)  She is also loving her fruits and veggies that she is now eating and we haven't found anything that she hasn't liked yet. Here are some pictures of her being 7 months and a few extra from the past month.

Spring Break and then some

I thought I'd give an update on our Spring Break and then a little bit more. We spent the first part of our spring break in Missouri seeing family we haven't seen since Christmas. Of course everyone loved getting to see Hannah and love on her. Conrad and I are just along for the ride these days. :) Traveling is becoming more and more challenging because now that she is getting older we have to remember the food, bowls, spoons, bottles, sheets for the bed (when Conrad doesn't drop them in the toilet beforehand), toys, bouncy chair, books, multiple clothes, bibs,...the list goes on and on. I am trying to collect things to keep at both my parents and conrads parents so we don't have to always remember the little things. After spending some relaxing time in Missouri, we headed back home and my parents and sister came for a short visit this past weekend. It was nice to have my whole family together (including Alex and Aubrey) because we haven't all been together at the same time in a while. Conrad is back to school now which means back to baseball so Hannah and I get to see him on Wednesdays and Sundays until baseball season is over. Today started the Just Between Friends sale, so my friend and I headed to steal some deals.
Hannah continues to grow daily and am amazed at the things she can do and figure out.
She loves to look at books

and smile for the camera

She wears big bows and gets lots of compliments

she has conversations with her best friend Owen

and is an all around fun girl! (Owen thinks so too)

I won't make this long but I need to give a reality TV blog update....
Bachelor also concluded over Spring Break and I could not have been more excited that Brad picked Emily....but we shall see how long it lasts :/
on a more positive note Dancing with the stars has started up and here are some thoughts on a few competitors
Karate Kid: awesome dance!
Mike: easy on the eyes but not a great dancer
Kendra: my favorite contestant this season so I'm cheering for her...and yes I do watch Kendra. After all she is on a reality tv show!
Romeo: MUCH better than your dad!!!!
Kirstie: Looked stunning and did suprisingly amazing! Im cheering for her too!!

Well Conrad and I must finish Amazing Race from last night. Sorry for long post this time!

Happy Half Birthday!

I know, I know...you've all been missing my everyday blogs! Well I can't believe that today my baby girl is 6 months old!!!! I can't believe this day 6 months ago I was in labor for 18 hours, I can't believe 6 months ago that I birthed a 7lb 12 oz beautiful girl, and I can't believe that 6 months ago my life forever changed and I became a "mom"! 6 months has gone by so fast and I have enjoyed every second of it. God has blessed Conrad and I with the most beautiful baby girl. I pray for her everyday to be as sweet and innocent as she is now and to grow to love God and build her faith. What an amazing gift to be a parent and for God to intrust the life of another person on me!
Well today with Hannah turned 6 months, that means she is half a year old. I am all about birthdays, and I will take any chance I get to celebrate a birthday. I have chosen to celebrate the first half birthday of all the kids I have. Today we had a half birthday party for Hannah with cupcakes, gifts, and a birthday party wouldn't be complete without singing "Happy half birthday to you, Happy half birthday to you, Happy half birthday dear Hannah, Happy half birthday to you". Now I know she's not going to remember this, or even her first birthday for that matter, and some of you might find this outragious, unnecessary, pointless,  but I believe its about celebrating the joy she has given us thus far. So, really its a party for us too. And, I get so much joy out of throwing parties and celebrating life that I don't really care what others think :). I did not allow her to eat a cupcake, but yes Opa, I did allow her to smash a cupcake and "experience her food". Now, alas, pictures of this fun celebration!!

Day 29: Wishes

I think I say "I wish" 10 times a day.  First of all I wish that I was good at putting all my thoughts into writing. If you've been following my blogging adventure,  you know that is something I was not gifted in. But, I could probably come up with a ton of wishes, some selfish, some unselfish, but I will just share a few right now.
I wish that I could stay home every day all day with Hannah and money not be an issue.

I wish that Conrad and I trusted God more with our finances.

I wish that Hannah would always stay so innocent and that she would never hurt.

I wish that all babies were born healthy....the nicu is not a fun place to be even though you have the best care there.

I wish that I could snap my fingers and the baby weight would be gone :)

I wish that I could live in Texas.

I wish that I could go on another mission trip soon.

I wish that Conrad and I could travel as much as we want.

I wish I could go on a cruise.

I wish to go to the Ellen show.

I wish that people treated everyone with respect.

I wish "bullying" was not an issue.

I wish that people didnt suffer from depression.

I wish for more kids.

I wish that I could write down all my wishes :)
