Happy Thanksgiving

Today Hannah celebrated her first Thanksgiving. :) Unfortunately it was not spent as a complete family. Conrads dad has been having some health problems with his lungs and ended up being in the hospital this week and is due surgery early tomorrow morning. Our plan was to spend Thanksgiving in Missouri this year, but Conrad ended up going to Missouri to be with his dad and I went to Texas with my parents. We didn't think it would be much fun spending Thanksgiving in the hospital with Hannah. So, although I have enjoyed speding this time with my family, I have missed seeing everyone in Missouri and most importantly spending Hannah's first Thanksgiving as a family. I am glad Conrad can be with his dad during this time, but we miss him! We have so much to be thankful for this year. We were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, I have been given the chance to stay home with her, our health, our families, our friends, jobs, house, chruch,...the list goes on. We are truely blessed. Here's a picture of Hannah sitting at the table with us enjoying lunch. Happy Thanksgiving!

Leap of Faith

I've heard it a million times and read it in the bible a million and one that "God will provide" and "God will never give you more than you can handle". But, I have never put that into action where I have had to truely believe that. Conrad and I recently made a decision where we have had to fully trust God will provide. I always knew that once we had kids I would have to work, but as soon as Hannah was born, I began praying for something else to work out. I just could not imagine being away from her more than I would be seeing her. As I began praying harder, I saw God begin to work in crazy ways. And, as of last week, I was able to resign from my teaching job to be able to stay home with Hannah. God is a great God who answers prayers and provides for his children. While this is going to be a huge change for our family and budget, I am so blessed and excited for the opportunity to spend more time with my baby.

A Halloween Scare

Well Hannah's first Halloween experience began at our Knock Knock night at church. We enjoyed showing her off as a little ballerina and Conrad enjoyed eating her candy. Then she ventured to her first Halloween party where she met Brett Michaels, Khloe Kardashian, and Brett Farve (i know that's not how its spelled, but it should be)....Soon after we arrived at the party Hannah decided to give me a real Halloween scare. As I was holding her she coughed and got choked on whatever she coughed up. She stopped breathing and immediately my instincts took over and began back thrusts which broke up whatever she was choking on. After a few more thrusts, she began breathing again. Man was it scary! Thankfully I had taken infant CPR and knew exactly what to do, I was already thinking about the next step if it was needed. Somehow I remained calm, which in class they told us you have to remain calm and I thought to myself no way would I be able to remain calm, but I did and it helped. Hopefully we won't ever go through that again, but I recommend anyone who hasn't taken infant CPR and has babies or is around them to do so! I hope everyone had a great Halloween! I will leave you with some pictures of Hannah's first Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

Hannahs 1st Trip

Well we took our trip with Hannah to Missouri. Who knew there was so much to pack. I feel like I took everything but the kitchen sink. Here is a little of what our car looked like....
This is just the top layer...We couldn't open the whole back end or everything would fall out. There are 3 suitcases under all that. Oh did I mention this was only a 4 day trip?
Hannah got to meet her other great-gmas

And her 3 cousins

She also enjoyed a wonderful weekend in sports with the Rangers heading to the World Series and Missouri beating OU....Here's the outfit she wore for good luck
We enjoyed visiting with all the family and everyone enjoyed getting to see her finally and while I enjoyed showing her off, I was still a nervous wreck. There was nothing really relaxing about taking our first trip with her. I guess that comes with being a first time parent. With exception of only a few people, I was constantly watching who had her, how she was doing, what people were doing with her, if they were touching her face, were their hands clean,...the list goes on. Poor thing was passed around like a hot potato for most of the weekend. Hannah was an amazing traveler and did so great away from her schedule, bed, and routine.

I love this little girl so much and love nothing more than holding her

Next stop....Texas

The Jeter Situation

Okay I have this crazy obsession of comparing how much Derek Jeter and The Situation look alike that I decided to blog about it and compare 2 pictures. Please look at the smiles, nose, and wrinkles by the eyes. Not to mention their heads are turned the same way in these pictures. I probably never would have thought about it until I watched Dancing with the Stars and immediatly following the Yankees vs Rangers. (Go Rangers!)........
The Situation

Derek Jeter

Now you decide.....
