I can't believe Hannah is 9 months...I think I say that every new month but really I can't. I also can't believe that in 3 months she will be a year old! Where has the time gone!!!?? My nine months being pregnant when waaaay slower than the past 9 months have gone. I am loving this stage she is in right now. She is so interactive, mobile, and talkative. I just love her to pieces

Rainbow Bridge
We picked up Peanut this week from being cremated. It was bitter sweet to have him back with us, even though he's not with us in physical form. The place where he was cremated was amazing and gave us a card with poem on it that I just had to share. For all of those that have lost a beloved pet, I hope you enjoy this too....
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to
someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so
they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends
are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to
health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole
and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams
of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing.
They each miss someone very special to them, who had
to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one
suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes
are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run
from the group, flying over green grass, his legs carrying
him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend
finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be
parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your
hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once
more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long from your
life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...

Man's Best Friend
I apologize in advance if this is a long post....
Conrad gave me Peanut as a Christmas present about 1.5 years before we were married. We didn't know it at the time, but Peanut was born with a rare blood disease. We found that out when he was neutered, and we almost lost him then. The disease is eventually what would take his life. He passed away without pain, but all too sudden and too soon. Conrad told me that God gave us Peanut because he knew that NO ONE would love him, care for him, or treat him the way we would and did.
Throughout the whole process, we could not have asked for a better vet. Peanut basically lived with him for 2 months after he was neutered and Dr. Gray told us he loved Peanut like his own. Even the night before Peanut died, he took Peanut to his house to watch him over night. He kept us updated throughout the night, and hated to tell us the bad news. One of the last things he told us before we left the vet the next day was "I'm sorry I wasn't good enough." However, he was great! I can never thank him and his staff enough for the way we were treated, but more importantly, the way they treated Peanut. I am so thankful for him and that God gave us him as a vet.
Peanut was not just a dog, he was our family and one of our kids. Those of you that don't like pets or don't have pets, you won't understand or ever understand what I am talking about when I say pets are family. There is no way to express the love I have for Peanut and will always have. He was the best dog in the world, the best snuggle dog in the world, dispite his love for paper and shredding things :) We have gotten Peanut cremated, so he will always be with us. There are already things I miss about him being around, and I still find myself checking the blankets on the couch to make sure I dont sit on him. My kitchen floor has been a lot dirtier the last few days because I am not used to picking up things I drop because he was an instant vacuum. Our house alarm has gone off more, because we are used to turning it off to let him out the back door in the morning, but since we don't do that in the morning we often forget to turn off the alarm before we walk out the door. The hardest part was getting rid of all his toys, treats, food, blankets, and bowls. It made the whole thing more real for us. Hannah has even noticed him not around. She loved to watch him run around the house, play with his toys, and chase him in the backyard. Yesterday she even went to his picture, pulled it off the shelf, and started "talking" to him and patting him. Funny, how even at a young age they noticed when things change. She was so sweet when she would see me cry she would try to pop my tears running down my face. Without her, this whole process would be even harder. She has kept a smile on my face, and kept me busy to not think about it so much.
This whole process has made me think of Ecclesiates 3. 3:1 reads-There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. Peanuts season is now over and there is a new season in our lives (Hannah). The pitter patter of Peanut running around the house, will soon be replaced by Hannah running around. Peanut running around the backyard will soon be replaced by Hannah playing and running in the backyard. Even the food I drop on the floor while cooking will no longer be picked up by Peanut, but by Hannah as she crawls all around and follows me wherever I go..so its inevitable. Don't think I just leave food for her to purposely find. Peanuts season is now in heaven. I never knew Conrad's grandpa, but I hear that he was a very special man....Conrad said that Peanut will love sitting in his grandpa's lap and I totally think that is what he does each day. Our season is taking care of Hannah and making sure that we love her and give her everything she needs.
We will never forget Peanut because his memories live in our hearts. It's getting easier to talk about but I don't think it ever gets easier losing someone you love and care so much about, no matter pet or human.

Reality Check
Well its that time of year when some of my favorite tv shows go off the air for the season. So, I felt it time to give an update on some of my reality shows that have just finished up, or are about to..
First The Amazing Race....if I could be on any show, this would be the one. I love traveling and would love the opportunity to go around the world racing. And, I would love to do the race with my dad. We both have the skills I think it would take to make a great team. This season my favorite team was Zev and Justin. They are best friends and Jev has aspergers. They made it to top 4 and yes I cried when they got eliminated.
My other favorite team was father/daughter team Gary and Mallory. If you have ever listened or watched Kellie Pickler...Mallory has that same personality and voice.
But, in the end, it was sisters Kesha and Jen that took the prize

On to Survivor....Finally Boston Rob won the million! He has been on 4 seasons and played his best game ever and took home the prize :) Survivor has been on for 22 seasons, and yes I've watched every season...thanks mom and dad (said sarcastically).
Now, Dancing with the Stars is not over yet, but we need to discuss it anyway. When the show first started I thought "who would watch this" and "what a dumb show". Well, I'm hooked! Yes I voted for Bristol Palin last season about a million times because I loved her and yes I might have voted for Kendra this season until she was eliminated. But, if I had the chance I would dance with Romeo in a heart beat...that boy had some moves.
My favorite couple this season is Chelsea Kane (from disney) and Mark Ballas. I think they are amazing together and tug the line when it comes to their dances each week. And finally, there has to be something said for a woman in her 60's that can dance like Kirstie Alley...she is amazing and looks amazing. I think she might win the trophy!
Now for the last show update....it hasn't even began but already I know I will be in tune Monday night for the premiere of Bachelorette. It is Ashley from last season...which we knew would be the case the moment she was voted off. Now, I've already researched all the Bachelors and by looks and profile I'm already liking Bentley from Florida. We shall see if I am correct or not.

I know you are probably thinking...."Lauren is crazy and obsessed with reality tv and these shows." My argument to that is....well there isn't one. Yes, I am! I am a busy mom who loves to take care of my little girl and my family, so I watch reality shows to unwind at night and get away from "reality" for just a few moments. I'm working on cutting back, I promise :)

Baby Dedication
Hannah, we give you to the Lord, who called you by name before you were born, and began the good work within you, and will make his home in your heart.

8 Months, Easter, Mommy's Day...
I realized today that so much has gone on the last month and a half and all I have blogged about was the Royal Wedding. My favorite part of the Royal Wedding was finding all the ridiculous gadgets and gifts. But when I wasn't looking at crazy Kate and William press on nails, or toilet seat covers, I have been busy raising my 8 month old!!!! I can hardle believe she is 8 months already...where has the time gone ??!!??!!?? To catch you up on our life....I celebrated my 26th birthday and my mom made a "to die for" red velvet chocolate chip cake. I enjoyed a relaxed birthday with my family & Olive Garden, but the best present of all was that baseball season ended on my birthday! Conrad might not appreciate that, but I do enjoy having him at home in the evenings now.
Then Easter was the week after and Conrad's parents were here for that. Hannah of course was sick, after all, it was a holiday. I am told kids get sick on holidays and traveling and so far Hannah has not let us down on that. She did enjoy her Easter basket from the Easter bunny and looked so cute in her white Easter dress.
We spent Mother's Day in Texas with my parents and sister. It was such a fun mother's day because I was in on the celebration!! Its still surreal sometimes to think that I am a mom. I absolutely love being a mom and loved getting to stand up in church when they recognized all the mommies. I have had the best mom as a role model and she has taught me how to be the mom I am. If I can be half the mom she was to us kids...I'll do just fine.
Conrad has never been one to celebrate the "little holidays" and by little holidays I mean anything other than Christmas. Even at that he doesn't understand why I make him put up Christmas lights or get down the millions of decorations each year out of the attic but he does it becuase I love it. I love any holiday and love to go all out for any kind of celebration. I have learned not to expect much from him as far as celebrations go, but for my first Mother's day, he made it special for me. I wasn't expecting anything, but he got me a gift certificate so that I could have some me time, a very sweet card, and my first mommy shirt. He got up early Sunday morning, got all ready for church and took care of Hannah, so that I could have a little extra sleep. We spent the late afternoon driving back to Oklahoma but I did get a nap in on the ride home :)
Now for the part you have been waiting for...an update on Hannah. She is now 8 months old!!! She still battles with allergies and may have to have an allergy test done to see what it is in the air she is allergic to. I pray it is not Peanut because I don't think I could bare having to get rid of him. I am just praying that God takes her allergies away. She has discovered how to clap her hands and whenever I say "yaaaaay!" she starts clapping and it is soooo cute. She is almost crawling...she drags herself right now and will get on all fours, but hasn't figrued that that is what will move her. Still no teeth, but that doesn't stop her from eating. She loves food...especially blueberries. She loves to play her toy piano, stacking blocks, and Elmo mailbox. She continues to remain such a happy baby....here are some pictures of the last month. Enjoy!
